My name is Basil Isham Oulevey, and I was born in Lausanne in September 2002. After graduating in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in biology and chemistry, with a complementary option in visual arts, I spent a year studying art history at the Faculté des Lettres in Lausanne. This university experience made me realize that deep down I was longing for a more concrete and practical training. Fascinated by artistic work related to the body, I chose to follow the Art&Design propaedeutic pathway in Geneva, in product design, jewelry and accessories.
It was during this preparatory year that I discovered my true passion for jewelry. From that time on, I began to incorporate stones into my creations, seeking to explore the light and color they emit, capable of giving the illusion of something alive.
In 2023, I entered HEAD-Geneva to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Product Design/Jewelry and Accessories. While my current work focuses on the interaction between the body and the object (jewelry or accessory), seeking to modify, complement or extend the perception we have of the body, it is also very much inspired by nature, and more particularly by the plants that surround me on a daily basis. Thanks to their light and color, stones add depth and a living dimension to my work, whether it's related to humans and/or plants.
