Hooked explores the union of technology and traditional handcraft, challenging the notion that innovation signals the decline of craftsmanship. By merging traditional crochet with 3D scanning, the collection reimagines the possibilities of handmade artistry through the lens of modern technology. Breathing new life into this age-old technique, it pushes the creative limits of crochet while honouring its origins. To translate the delicate threads of crochet into a strong and structured form, 3D scanning proved to be an ideal tool, opening up creative possibilities that cannot be achieved through the traditional technique alone. The result is a collection that transforms crochet into a dialogue between the past and the future, celebrating how tradition can flourish through the possibilities of technology. In this space handcraft is not lost, but elevated.
